100 firefighters tackling huge fire in Central London

Firefighters are currently tackling a blaze in Covent Garden.

A large section of Long Acre in London has been cordoned off by police while firefighters work to extinguish the mansard roof.

A total of 12 fire engines are on the scene.

People on Twitter report that they have been evacuated from the area.

It is currently unknown if there are any injuries.

It is not yet known if anyone is in the property.

Crews from Lambeth, Euston, Soho, Dowgate, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Chelsea and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

One person said: ‘Huge response and London Ambulance are also on the scene.’

Another said: ‘Fire on Long Acre. London Fire crew doing a great job as always.’
