A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was reportedly hacked with a machete in a horrific rush-hour attack.
Commuters were left shocked after the male was allegedly knifed by a masked thug in the street in Birmingham shortly after 8am today.
He was rushed to hospital with serious wounds following the broad daylight stabbing, the Birmingham Mail reports.
His current condition remains unknown.
This morning, an eyewitness described the shocking moment he saw the man – who has not yet been identified – being ‘chopped up’ with the machete on Tile Cross Road.
The man, who did not wish to be named, said he was walking along the street when he saw the thug pounce.
He told the newspaper: “It was about 8.10am and a man walked past the shop by the bus stop and another man started chopping him.
“He wouldn’t stop. He carried on hitting him.
“His clothes were red. His arms, elbows, his back were all dripping in blood.”
The witness added:”It was madness. The victim was lying in the middle of the road.”
