Five children have been hit by a car in Liverpool leaving a number with serious injuries, police have said.
Emergency services are treating the casualties, who are all female children aged between 11 and 13-years-old, at the scene of the accident.
A number of them have injuries which are described as serious while others have minor injuries. Their parents have been informed.
The driver of the yellow Peugeot – a woman aged in her 80s – is also being treated at the scene.
The collision happened on Belvidere Road near Princes Park at around 3.20pm.
Police have closed surrounding roads and parents are advised to visit Belvidere Academy website for information about collecting their children from school.
