BREAKING NEWS: People trapped after massive avalanche in Scotland

Reports are emerging that people may be trapped following an avalanche in Scotland.

One person has been taken to hospital by helicopter following an avalanche at Creag Meagaidh.

Teams still searching for more people who may be trapped in the snow.

Police Scotland have confirmed that mountain rescue teams are being sent to reports of a large avalanche in North Lochaber, with reports of people trapped.

A Coastguard helicopter from Inverness was not long into its search of Ben Nevis for two missing climbers – only to divert to another mountain incident.

Two members of Lochaber Mountain Resecue Team (MRT) are on board the helicopter.

The search of Ben Nevis was diverted at 3.13pm to investigate reports of possible cries of help heard by other climbers coming from a climbing crag in a gully on 3710-feet high Creag Meagaidh.
