Trains are facing severe delays after a person was hit by a train and died on a major route into the capital.
The victim was struck at Sydenham Hill in south east London this morning, cops said.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the tragedy around 10am.
Southern Railway has now confirmed services between London Victoria and East Croydon are likely to be disrupted in both directions.
A British transport police spokesman said: “Officers are on the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service however a person has sadly been pronounced dead.
“We are now working to identify the person and inform their family.
“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
