A major police incident is underway in East Ham, London, with witness footage showing armed officers aiming their weapons and shouting.

Barking Road, East Ham, has been sealed off with the shocking clip showing armed police aiming their weapons towards the roof of a parade of businesses.

They can be heard shouting: “Stand up, show us your hands.”

Officers have now raided a property at the scene, which is located near a Paddypower bookmakers branch.

Despite some reports on social media of a “man on the roof”, the small size of the police cordon indicates this is not the case.

Social media users have described the chaotic scene on Twitter.

One Twitter user said: “Avoid Barking Road high street North area. Police anti terror raid. Full on lock down.”

Another said: “Madness on East Ham Barking Road.”

A third Twitter user said: “Please, if anyone is in & around the East Ham area at the moment – Be Safe. Armed Police & Police Vans have cordoned off the High Street.”

While it has not been confirmed if the incidents are related, it comes after police raided a home in Barking believed to be linked to last night’s London Bridge and Borough Market terror attack.

Twenty-one people are still fighting for life after the London Bridge terror attack.

Seven people were killed when three men drove a van into pedestrians, then got out and stabbed people in Borough Market last night.

At least 49 others were taken to hospital, with still others treated as walking wounded.

More details emerged today about the levels of injuries, with 21 people still in a critical condition according to NHS England.

‘Critical’ is the most severe term to describe a patient’s condition. It means they are still fighting for life and their vital signs are not stable. They are likely to be in intensive care or requiring surgery.

The attackers, wielding long knives, ran down a set of stairs into Borough Market, where there were thousands of people enjoying their nights out in restaurants and pubs.

The attackers stabbed people in several different restaurants, in the attack which lasted around eight minutes before they were shot dead by armed police.

Harrowing footage has emerged showing bystanders rushing to save the lives of injured pedestrians on London Bridge as one woman is heard begging her loved on to ‘hold on’ while paramedics fought to save him.

He is believed to be one of 48 brutally injured by three crazed men brandishing 12-inch knives who went on a stabbing spree and murdered seven late last night.

Witnesses described seeing ‘bodies everywhere’ after the white van with a B&Q logo weaved across the bridge at around 50mph southbound towards The Shard.

The knifemen then ran through nearby Borough Market, stabbing victims at random shouting ‘This is for Allah’, according to victims.

One woman’s throat was slit while she was eating a meal in a restaurant while others were ran over when the trio ploughed into pedestrians in a white van.

Now a number of video and pictures have emerged showing the devastating impact of the attack in the immediate aftermath.

Two Britons whose car ploughed into pedestrians as they tried to escape police in a Spanish resort appeared to be drunk, say authorities.

Eight people, including a 12-day-old baby and the driver, were injured during the incident in Marbella.

The Civil Guard said the car sped off when officers tried to stop it at a motorway checkpoint on Sunday evening.

It headed into the Costa del Sol city, where it hit pedestrians on a crowded avenue before smashing into other cars.

A police spokeswoman said the driver and the passenger, aged 27 and 28, held British passports and appeared to be drunk.

Spain’s interior ministry said three people had been injured on the street and four others in a crash as the car tried to get away.

The driver of the car was also seriously injured.

Police said they did not think it was a terror-related incident and both men have been arrested.
