An EastEnders star will leave the BBC One soap as part of a riveting new storyline.
A show insider told The Mirror that the Matt Di Angelo’s malevolent character Dean Wicks will depart after “getting his comeuppance”.
An EastEnders spokesperson commented: “We can confirm that Matt will be leaving and we wish him all the best.”
Dean’s dark side continues to emerge in Albert Square, after deliberately burning his girlfriend Roxy Mitchell. He is also still yet to face punishment for raping Linda Carter at the Queen Vic after the authorities failed to pursue the case against him.
Di Angelo already left the show back in 2007, but returned to EastEnders in early 2014 on a one-year contract. He later signed another 12-month deal.
