Mum of murdered Fusilier Lee Rigby reveals last text he sent her

Lyn Rigby has tearfully revealed the last text he sent to her.

Fusilier Rigby was brutally murdered by Islamic extremists three years ago outside the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, south London.Lyn Rigby, 49, has told of the constant pain she feels “every single day” following the 25-year-old’s shocking death.

Talking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Mrs Rigby said her “pain never goes away” before reading out the heartbreaking last text her son sent her.He wrote: “Goodnight Mum. Hope you had a fantastic day today because you are the most fantastic one-in-a-million mum anyone could ever wish for.

“Thanks for supporting me all these years.

“You are not just my mum. You are my best friend.

“So goodnight Mum, I love you loads.”

She tearfully added: “I’d give anything to have him back right now. I miss him so much.”

Mrs Rigby has since set up the Lee Rigby Foundation “to honour” her son and help bereaved families.
