PICTURED: £180,000 Supercar written off in M40 crash

An insurance company was facing a hefty bill after a McLaren supercar was left badly damaged after a crash on the motorway.

The McLaren MP4-12C was travelling on the motorway on Sunday at around 4pm on Saturday when it was involved in the accident.

Despite the damage to the 200mph supercar, which cost more than £180,000 new, there were no injuries as a result.

One lane of the M40 near Bicester, Oxfordshire, between Junction 9 and Junction 8A had to close while emergency services attended.
