Young mother killed after Storm Doris winds blow her into road and she is hit by road sweeper

A young mother has been killed after being blown into the road and hit by a road sweeper during Storm Doris.

The 32-year-old was reportedly on her way to pick up her children from a child minder when she was hit by the vehicle.

The incident happened on Beechcroft Road in Swindon at 4.30pm yesterday.

It comes after a 29-year-old woman was killed in Wolverhampton yesterday when she was hit by falling debris outside a Starbucks.

The woman was pushing an empty pushchair to pick up her young child from a nearby childminder when she was struck by the vehicle.

Devastated locals said the “wind took hold of her” and swept the empty pram into the path of the road cleaner.
